Announcing The Life Cycle’s Newest Episode, “Synthetic Vice”
You may have already guessed from the title of the episode, but The Life Cycle’s newest episode, “Synthetic Vice”, is all about the future of booze! And, as Eva and John discover, the future is very bright indeed.
The episode features a very interesting chat between Eva and psychiatrist and psychopharmacologist, Professor David Nutt. They cover a range of topics, including the potential benefits of drugs like MDMA and Psilocybin (magic mushrooms) on chronic issues like depression, eating disorders, and anxiety.
But back to the main topic: the future of alcohol! Eva and Dr. Nutt dive into his work with GABA Labs and the creation of Alcarelle, a molecule that creates a similar sensation to alcohol but without the hangover and other negative benefits. As you will hear in the episode, Alcarelle is still in the testing phase, but Dr. Nutt has the next best thing: Sentia! Sentia is a mood-enhancing non-alcoholic drink, made from botanicals that create a similar sensation to alcohol. And if you’re wondering what it tastes like, John, Eva, and her partner Roger have a taste test in the episode!
Now that you’ve gotten a taste of the episode, head on over to The Life Cycle’s website to check it out! You can find all of the episodes there and also on your favorite podcast platforms.
