Introducing: Klang’s Adventurous Side!
Wednesday, April 26th
The next pillar of Klang’s culture that we want to talk about is adventure! While this doesn’t necessarily sound like a common aspect of company culture, we think it is a very important piece to Klang’s elaborate puzzle of values. But what does adventure mean to us? That is what we will dive into today, so buckle up!
Part of the fun in creating a game like SEED is that there is so much to explore! We love that Klangers don’t feel boxed in and we encourage them to test the edges of their knowledge and skills. In a way, we are explorers, just like the Seedlings were when they first arrived on Avesta! And a key part of being a pioneer is taking risks. However, in order to maximize success, we make sure that the risks we take are calculated.
No matter if you’re skydiving or building a gigantic MMO game, it’s important to make sure that every risk you take has been thoroughly investigated. As our CEO Mundi said, “We’re not here to play safe, but we’re also not here to be dumb”. So, while we encourage Klangers to think outside the box and take chances, we also stress the importance of doing your due diligence before making any large leaps. This is why we make sure that Klangers have the space to share ideas and potential risks with their team and manager, in order to get feedback and proceed with confidence. If you haven’t already, check out our previous blog post about why feedback is so important to us.
All of this means that more often than not, we must make decisions in the face of uncertainty. We know this can be scary and that stepping down an unknown path is not always the most comfortable experience. But luckily, we have each other to support one another! This is why at Klang, we see encouraging each other to be brave and saying “YES” to adventure as an essential part of working together. In order to help create and maintain these strong and supportive relationships we host a variety of events, from movie nights to happy hours. Connecting outside of work gives Klangers the chance to deepen their trust and bonds, which then carries over into the work environment.
