Klang Meets KiKA!
September 9th, 2022
Back in June, Klang had the pleasure of hosting a TV crew in the office (no, sadly Klang is not a part of a gamer reality show). The crew was there to film for KiKA, a popular public German TV channel for children.
In fact, the channel is so beloved that “every child in Germany watches KiKA'', says Sabrina, our Lead Community Manager. KiKA’s show, Team Timster, brought Isaac, an 11 year old aspiring game developer/programmer to get a behind-the-scenes look at a video game studio.
Isaac isn’t just any 11 year old, he is a kid-reporter, and like we said, he is fascinated with game development. To show Isaac the different steps in the game-making process, we had Sabrina introduce him to Klangers from different departments, all the way from Game Design to Audio. During his tour, Isaac was able to help in the creation of his very own Seedling! Through this process Isaac chatted with Anne about game design, helped Alexandra map out his Seedling’s body positioning, and talked with Rainer about the more technical side of game development. Then, he went down to our recording studio where David helped him record some sounds for his Seedling. To round it all off, Isaac visited with Weronica to actually test out the game and talk about how we look for and fix bugs.
We had a lot of fun showing Isaac around the office, and we think that he felt the same way. If you’re interested in checking out the full video, click the link below. Just a heads up, currently, the video is only available in German. Additionally, the video will only be online for a month, so don’t wait too long! If you are interested in watching it, Klang makes an appearance at the 4:44 minute mark.
