Introducing our Senior 3D Animator, Anastasia!

From studying Film and TV Directing in Ukraine to breathing life into characters at Klang, Anastasia shares her creative journey, what drives her as an animator, and why she loves both SEED and her tiny dog.

How did you find your way to Klang?

My path to animation wasn't linear. I actually studied Film and TV Directing at university and earned my bachelor's in that field. At first, I was excited about directing. I loved organizing creative projects and working with people, but I quickly realized the emotional weight and stress of the production process didn’t suit me. I found it hard to say no, especially when working with talented people who had great ideas. I needed something that balanced creativity and structure in a healthier way.

In my second year, I took a 9-month 3D production course that included animation, and that’s when I truly discovered what I wanted to do. Animation lets me combine my interest in acting, emotional expression, and technical structure. I kept learning for the next three years, combining it with my university studies, and later built a portfolio while working on various projects.

Eventually, I joined Gameloft in my hometown in Ukraine, working on a Disney collaboration and other projects. It was an incredibly formative four years. Then the war began, and my family and I moved to Germany. I had to start again, update my portfolio, job hunt, and learn both German and English. I saw the Klang job on LinkedIn, applied, and soon had an amazing conversation with my team lead. We immediately clicked. Since joining, it’s truly been one of the most fulfilling chapters of my career.

What is your favorite part about working as an Animator?

I love seeing how our Seedlings become more alive with every animation! Even small variations in their movement can deepen the connection between our players and their Seedlings. Whether they’re crying, laughing, or reacting to sounds, it feels like magic to bring them to life.

Plus, the balance between creativity and technicality is what keeps me excited. Each project at Klang is diverse and imaginative; we’re never boxed in creatively. And because the team here is so warm, kind, and talented, I continue to grow every day as both an animator and a person. Even after more than two years, I still feel like I'm evolving, which is rare and special.

What excites you most about SEED?

SEED is a rollercoaster in the best way. There are so many ideas in motion, and I’m really inspired by the huge ambition behind them. Everyone brings something different to the table, and I hope we’ll weave those ideas into a connected, living world where players can build societies, interact in real time, and create their own stories.

As a fan of simulation games, I believe SEED really stands out; it’s not just a game, but a world people can truly inhabit. That’s an incredible thing to be part of.

What do you like to do in your free time?

Right now, I’m very focused on learning. I'm preparing for my German language test and continuing to develop my English. I’ve also started learning object-oriented programming to be more helpful on the technical side of animation and maybe support our tech team in the future. I’m curious about balancing creativity with technical knowledge.

And I can’t forget my dog! She’s very small and very sweet. Her name is Tori. Spending time with her really motivates me. It’s a good reminder that I’m not alone on this journey.

What do you love about Berlin?

I don’t live in Berlin, but I love visiting. Compared to Bavaria, where life is much slower, Berlin feels alive, with so much going on all the time. I enjoy the variety of concerts, museums, and neighborhoods. It’s a city full of contrast, one moment you're in a fancy area, and the next you’re somewhere completely different. I love walking through it all, just observing. It’s never boring.
