SEED Takes the Stage at Comic Con Málaga

Tue Jul 29 2025

So that just happened: Last week, Klang stormed the stage to share SEED at Comic Con Málaga, sharing the game with a live audience! Having just entered Closed Beta the week before, it was the perfect time for the studio to mark such a cool, cultural milestone. María Rey Sampayo, our Senior Studio Director at Klang Games, introduced SEED’s vision to the crowd, offering a glimpse into the persistent world that’s been years in the making.

This was in fact the inaugural Comic Con Málaga, which was making history as the first-ever official San Diego Comic-Con held outside the United States, a true landmark event (oh and it also featured the world premiere of a new Batman villain).

A Conversation About the Future of SEED

María spoke about what makes SEED different: after all, we’re creating a genre-bending game where every action has a meaningful impact. Maria explained how, in SEED, “all players share the same story in a world that's always alive, always progressing.” From guiding Seedlings in their daily lives to building economies and founding political systems, SEED is designed to be more than a game. The Comic Con crowd was really into hearing how we strive to get people to come together, collaborate, and sometimes clash when given a blank foundation upon which to build their societies.

The talk reflected Klang’s philosophy: SEED isn’t about scripted stories or fixed outcomes. Instead, it’s about creating the tools for players to shape their own world, one that evolves unpredictably based on real human choices.

Guide a Seedling –  Explore the Future of Humanity.

We know that the Comic Con crowd would love SEED because, at its heart, SEED is about Seedling characters: AI-driven people with minds of their own, guided and shaped by players. Through their Seedlings, players explore the future of humanity by building societies from the ground up – helping create new meaning behind what it means to be a person, a group, and indeed a society. María got to showcase how players can construct buildings, craft essential items, and trade with other communities, all while navigating the challenges of life on Avesta, a rich and untamed new planet.

The Klang Crew at Comic Con Málaga

Beyond the stage, our team had a really amazing time immersing themselves in all Comic Con Málaga had to offer. From exploring the vibrant artist alley and meeting passionate gamers, to geeking out over retro games and catching sneak peeks of upcoming releases, the energy was contagious.

Closed Beta Is Live

The timing of Comic Con Málaga couldn’t have been better: it coincided with the launch of SEED’s Closed Beta. For the first time, a larger group of players is stepping into Avesta, forming communities, testing the systems, and shaping the future of the planet.

Looking Ahead

The energy at Comic Con reminded us what community is all about and what we’re trying to build with SEED. All that positive potential is something we’re thrilled to have the chance to tap into. Klang is continuing to push forward on its bold vision: a persistent, player-driven game where every decision has lasting impact. We fully expect that the next time we’re at Comic Con, we’ll be talking to audiences of Seedlings, people fully committed to living out the future of humanity!
